Frequently Asked Questions

Can we include our dog as part of our ceremony?

Yes! As a dog lover and owner, I am more than happy to work with your wishes and to involve your dog as part of your ceremony.

As a Celebrant, are you insured?

I’m fully insured as part of my membership of the International College of Professional Celebrants.

What is the maximum distance you will travel to carry out a ceremony?

I am happy to consider travelling to almost any corner of Scotland or the North of England. This is of course subject to my diary and availability, but if I can accommodate your celebration, then I will.

How do you go about creating our ceremony?

Initially I like to meet you in person, so that we can discuss your plans, hopes and dreams for the day. This is then followed by emails and/or calls until you are happy that the ceremony is exactly as you would like it to be.

Question: Can we have a ceremony rehearsal?

For practical reasons, this depends on the location that you choose. However, I will be in touch with you regularly prior to your big day, and will arrive at the venue well in advance, in order to carry out my own pre-ceremony checks and to ensure that everything is in place to run perfectly. However, if the venue is reasonably close and has availability for a rehearsal, then I would be very happy to have a ‘run-through’ with you. On the day, I dedicate my time entirely to your celebration.

Choosing a celebrant is one of the most important decisions to make when planning your big day. You need to feel happy that you are choosing someone who is in tune with your wishes – so please feel free to ask if you have any other queries and I will do my best to answer them for you.
